Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Franchise Ownership

  • Drive franchise-level strategic, tactical, and operational decisions that maximize global growth, competitiveness, and patient impact across the Endovascular portfolio.
  • Build and execute a cohesive long‚Äëterm vision for Endovascular therapies that integrates advancements in vessel preparation, scaffolds, drug‚Äëdelivery technologies, thrombectomy systems, and image‚Äëguided intervention.
  • Serve as the Endovascular franchise champion within Abbott Vascular‚Äîshaping executive decision-making, guiding investment priorities, and ensuring resources align with highest‚Äëvalue clinical and commercial opportunities.

Market & Competitive Insight

  • Maintain deep expertise across the entire category ‚Äì e.g., peripheral vascular disease, critical limb ischemia, atherectomy, thrombectomy, drug‚Äëcoated and bioresorbable technologies.
  • Monitor emerging competitors, evidence shifts, procedural trends, and the evolving regulatory landscape‚Äîincluding device innovation, adjunctive technologies, and care‚Äëpathway changes.
  • Anticipate category inflection points by identifying early signals in clinical practice, reimbursement pressures, and unmet clinical needs‚Äîtranslating insights into clear franchise direction.
  • Identify opportunities for market expansion, new therapy adoption, and procedural standard‚Äëof‚Äëcare evolution across global markets.

Upstream Marketing & Portfolio Development

  • Lead end‚Äëto‚Äëend portfolio management for the Endovascular franchise‚Äîfrom customer insights ‚Üí concept development ‚Üí design input ‚Üí clinical validation ‚Üí product/solution launch.
  • Translate physician workflow needs, procedural pain points, and system‚Äëlevel challenges into actionable requirements for R&D, Clinical, and Regulatory.
  • Drive trade‚Äëoff decisions that balance clinical value, competitive differentiation, technical feasibility, and financial impact across Endovascular platforms.
  • Shape franchise and platform strategy, including next‚Äëgeneration device development, drug‚Äëdevice innovation, system integration, and expansion into adjacent procedural categories.

Downstream Marketing & Commercial Leadership

  • Define and lead global go‚Äëto‚Äëmarket strategy for new Endovascular product launches‚Äîcovering segmentation, positioning, pricing, reimbursement, adoption pathways, and global sales enablement.
  • Own global brand strategy, messaging, and clinical value narratives for the Endovascular portfolio.
  • Partner with regional commercial leaders to ensure launch excellence, competitive execution, and sustained growth post‚Äëlaunch.
  • Conduct ongoing informal market sensing by maintaining a strong pulse on trends and sentiment through regular engagement with field teams, regional partners and physicians.
  • Drive programs that accelerate adoption of Endovascular therapies through education, evidence dissemination, procedural workflow optimization, and clinical practice change.

Cross‚ÄëFunctional Partnership & Organizational Alignment

  • Serve as the primary business partner to R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, Medical Affairs, and HEOR, ensuring alignment between portfolio strategy, clinical evidence generation, and regulatory pathways.
  • Partner with engineering teams developing delivery systems, drug‚Äëcoated technologies, thrombectomy devices, vessel‚Äëprep tools, and material science innovations to ensure solutions meet validated customer needs.
  • Collaborate closely with Clinical and HEOR to create compelling clinical data, economic value stories, and global reimbursement strategies that strengthen competitive positioning.
  • Align with supply chain, operations, and finance leaders to optimize lifecycle profitability, manufacturing readiness, and global delivery performance.

Portfolio Planning & Long‚ÄëRange Strategy

  • Lead the Endovascular portfolio planning process, including roadmap prioritization, capital allocation, and multi‚Äëyear strategic planning based on clinical trends, economic shifts, and competitive dynamics.
  • Develop and champion high‚Äëimpact business cases for new device concepts, therapy innovations, platform evolution, and expansion into adjacent markets.
  • Drive forecasting, scenario planning, and global market modeling to guide strategic and investment decisions.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Build and develop a high‚Äëperforming team with expertise spanning upstream marketing, therapy development, market strategy, and clinical/technical integration.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, market curiosity, and continuous improvement that embraces rapid learning cycles and evidence‚Äëdriven decision‚Äëmaking.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and succession planning to ensure long‚Äëterm franchise leadership strength.

Minimum & Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor‚Äôs degree or equivalent required. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive B2B marketing experience in life sciences, medical devices, or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Ability to influence senior-level stakeholders and confidently recommend a point-of-view based on insights and data.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute complex strategic business plans.
  • Effective financial and budget management.
  • Data analysis and financial skills are critical.
  • Record of successful talent development through direct or indirect reporting relationships.
  • Ability to motivate, focus, and lead a diverse group of people; demonstrated effectiveness at developing talent throughout organizational levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate across multiple functions, outstanding communication, and presentation skills.

The base pay for this position is $197,300.00 – $394,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
