Ditto Up — User Manual

Welcome to Ditto Up. This manual is the complete reference for everything you can do on the platform. Bookmark this page and use the table of contents below to jump to what you need.

If you are stuck, the Troubleshooting & FAQ section covers the most common questions, and the Glossary explains any term you don't recognize.

What is Ditto Up?

Ditto Up is a video-first employment marketplace. Instead of letting a paper résumé do all the talking, candidates record short videos that prove their skills, and employers see real human evidence before they ever schedule an interview. The platform also includes:

  • A skills/credentials marketplace where every job, candidate and term (skill, license, certification, degree) links to a public detail page with marketplace insights.
  • A full community layer — posts, reactions, comments, follows and notifications.
  • A rich messaging system with voice messages, translation, scheduling, AI screening and reputation tiers.
  • Verifiable credentials (W3C standards, Open Badges v3) that candidates can export as a portable wallet.

The site is open to anyone. You can be a candidate, an employer/recruiter, or both at the same time.

Conventions used in this manual

  • URLs in monospace are paths on the site. Add the domain in front: https://ditto-up.network (production) or https://dev.ditto-up.network (development/test).
  • "Term" means a skill, credential, license, certification, occupation or degree — anything in the platform's marketplace dictionary. See the glossary.
  • "VBQ" stands for Video-Based Qualifications & Questions. It's the system where you record a short video answer to a term-specific question and the platform scores it. See Videos & VBQ.
  • Steps marked (login required) mean you must be signed in to do that action.
  • Steps marked (business) are only relevant to employer / recruiter accounts. Steps marked (candidate) are only relevant to candidate accounts. Most users have both modes available on the same account.
